Institute of Photography Offer from Amazon Local
Discussion
I had an email form Amazon Local with an offer from the Institute of Photography offering this course http://www.institute-of-photography.com/course-con... for less then £50 which looks really good value but it it any good?
Not seen details of that - and my only academic photographic achievements have been an O-level in the '70s and an OU course a few years back, so don't pay any attention to me.
But, what are you hoping to achieve from a course such as that?
Personally, one years' subscription (and no more, because it gets repetitive) to a photography magazine, a couple of books, one for shooting, one for post processing will give you more!

Or I'll teach you in a day, for £50, all the fundamental points you need to learn, understand and develop to get to be really good!

This will sound stupid....
Not at all!The great thing about shelling out some money and making a commitment to something, anything, like this is that you have a learning programme and a structure to your development.
Just wondered if you had a particular objective - like making money which I think most "courses" claiming to do that are a bit of a swizz - or you're just looking for an all-rounder development.
I've just seen your shots on another thread of your lovely mini, and you're right to ask for any C&C - but you probably want to beef up your understanding of fundamentals and make your own style and "look", yes?
Yes I need to improve my understanding of how to get good results and to beabel to understend the termanology. I've recently joined a camera club so hopefully this will help. The idea of making money form my photos never really occured to me but of course if that was to happen then I wouldn't so no.... but I'm a long way form that point
