I just saw reference to this on another thread, and went for a look. I now have some questions which hopefully you nice chaps can answer!

1. Is there any reason why I wouldn't use this? I have a Canon 7D which is still under warranty if this influences things one way or another.

2. Does it only give added features via the screen, or are they also visible through the viewfinder?

3. What stuff do people actually get real value from, as opposed to gimmicky stuff on there just for the hell of it?

4. Is there a catch? It appears to be free?

It uses more battery and slows the cold/start down a little. It shouldnt affect warranty as its totally removable. Holding 'Set' at boot stops it loading but it seems to load itself again after going to sleep (on my 5d2). Takes longer to format a card too.

Nothing in the viewfinder though many still features will still work without the screen on (hdr, intervalvometer etc)

Zebera's on the LCD in live view, proper off the sensor data in live view, super spot meter in live view in the reticle so you can see the exact levels where you want. up to 9 shot bracketing with great range and auto, intervalvometer, trap shooting (focus and noise) etc etc. Its loaded.

Hmm.. I may give it a go then. It seems on the 7D you have to load it again each time you turn the camera on (intentionally, apparently), which might be a faff, but worth a play!
