Collapsible Backdrop
Discussion
I recently borrowed a collapsible backdrop for the photography of my family - I like it and the results I got from it and I've been asked to do a few more shots of my friends kids. I've been hunting around for this and I've seen a wide range of costs and details of it - Can someone recommend somewhere to get one from and how much I ought to be looking for one please?
Thanks

Aha but I cheat - I have a small studio with white walls and floor and infinity coving.
If you have a spare room you can do it too; paint, coving and filler are cheap.
The results still need a little Shopping as often the b/g comes out a very light grey, but being flat and not far from white makes it easy to deal with. To light the wall seperately from the subject I'd need a much bigger room and more kit.

Overkill for what I would use it for as I am a proper amateur - I'd like to kit out my garage as such, but it's full of the usual garage crap, and not even a car either. If you have a spare room you can do it too; paint, coving and filler are cheap.

Editing out the creases wasn't that big a deal when I worked out a sequence and that I could preset the curves:
- Select subject
- Refine the edge
- New layer from selection
- Adjust the curves to bright out the background and not wash out the subject
Not the best of very first posts, but I've got to start somewhere! Been lurking for a couple of years and only just got round to signing up!
Right, not sure how helpful this is, but I've been a freelance photographer for the last few years and I mostly use a large paper backdrop which is the most impractical thing you can imagine. But occassionally I will cheat and use my pop out reflector as a back drop.
This sort of thing - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ex-Pro-Photographic-Light-...
I usually use it as a black back drop as I don't typically shoot against black, but occassionally I will use it for a white back drop if it's a tight space or their not paying me enough to be bothered to set the main backdrop up haha. With a decent flash you can get pretty decent results from it

It this sort of thing that I'm looking for:

I just don't know if £80 is steep...

That does seem a bit steep! The only real difference is that the one you posted has a folding out section to sit / stand on, is that worth the extra £40? If your making money off it then go for it as you'll make it back.
- EDIT - yeah looking back at it, thats a fair bit bigger than the one I posted! Have you tried ebay or Warehouse Express?
