Who does the canvas printing?

I asked this exact question a while back, and another PHer sent me a PM recommending a company called inkworks.co.uk.

Since then, I've ordered two A2 canvases from them - one a landscape I took with my 7D, and the other a shot my daughter took on my old 450D. I was chuffed to bits with the results, and both now have pride of place on our lounge wall.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I placed the order, as it seemed suspiciously cheap at £8.28 per canvas including postage, but off the back of the first two, I'll be ordering up shots of the kids as Christmas presents for the Grandparents. Even allowing £3 or so per frame for a few lengths of pine and some staples for mounting them, it's an absolute bargain!

Kermit, did you have to make the frame and stretch the canvas yourself in that case?

I've used printitoncanvas.co.uk a few times now with good results.

Yes, I did. Given the relatively small size, though, it was an easy job, and well worth the savings.

I've got some A1 prints on order at the moment which should arrive by the end of the week, so I'll report back on how successful I am with mounting and stretching at twice the size!

For A2, I just glued and stapled a rudimentary pine mount and then wrapped the canvas round it and stapled it on the back. This seems to have worked perfectly well, and it didn't need any additional stretching. For the A1, I might have a go at doing it with a flexible frame so that I can hammer in shims to stretch it afterwards, but even at that size, I'm not sure it will be necessary.

Most art supplies shop sell wooden "stretchers" for mounting canvases. They are properly bevelled and have appropriate grooves and wedges so fit well and are easy to assemble with no tools except a hammer to tap the corners together,

They are quite cheap too.
