trying to sell a lens

Is there anywhere better than eBay (wanna avoid this because its such a chew and by the time you get your money, ebay ad fees, final value fee and paypal "receiving your money" fees have taken a sizable chunk from it.

I have used the For Sale/Wanted notice board and work and Gumtree, but is there anything that is more photography-centric?

Not sure I am allowed to peddle my wares on here but if anyone is interested in a Wide Angle zoom then email me I guess!

The talkphotography forum if you're already registered.

Not sure if you need a certain amount of posts before you can sell though...

Places like TalkPhotography are good to buy from, and eBay, despite all the idiots and its faults is sadly the best place to sell.

I bought a tidy Nikon F5 off TalkPhotography for £150, no one else was really interested, I used it for a bit then sold it on eBay for £325... People were bidding on it like mad.

I've done that with a few items. Buy them cheap on forums after knocking people right down in price then stick them on eBay, all cleaned up, nice photos, glowing advert.. Cher-Ching!

Sad but true, and that's coming from someone who hates eBay.

Talkphotography forum is only good for picking up a bargain (possibly the only thing it's good for...)

As far as selling goes eBay is the only place i've had any success selling things for what they are worth.

I've never had any issues selling on TP (lenses, bags, filters and accessories) and have not had any real issues buying. It's fairly busy too.

Have you considered listing on PH Classifieds? I sold my first DSLR kit this way to a well-known PH-er who was an absolute pleasure to deal with.
