Panasonic LX7 - anyone have any questions?

Wasn't aware of this, so had a quick Google.
Nice looking bit of kit. Laid out very much like the (my) LX3 - which is no bad thing - but with that fast lens (I thought the f2.0 on the LX3 was fast). Panasonic still using Leica glass too, which is nice.
I'd be interested to see some shots.

I owned an LX-3 at one point. Was a lovely camera and produced fantastic shots. Only thing I found that let it down was that no matter what I did, it would always totally blow out any flash shots. Even on super inteligent auto it would blow out the whites massively. Having to adjust the exposure manually and often retake shots when using the flash soon became a chore and I ditched it.
Always liked the idea of an LX-5 or this new LX-7 looks nice. How have you found the flash?

But then it stops being a compact camera. Reason I bought it was because I wanted a decent camera with "like" SLR quality and the option to adjust settings if required but wanted it to fit in a pocket as I always found I would leave my Dslr at home and take the missus point and shoot.Having to carry around an external flash defeats the point in buying a compact sized camera imo.

Used it for a couple of months - stood a metre further away from the subject matter for flash shots, that helped a little. Range is quite restrictive but a good camera although not truly pocketable.Cock Womble 7 said:

Ergonmics are excellent, I suspect only the G1X, X10 and P7700 are better (I've not used them).Nice looking bit of kit. Is it a pain having a removable lens cap? Presume no filter thread so I'd worry about an exposed front lens element.

Lens cap ok for me, it hangs off the camera with string.
You can get a filter ring and then attach any 37mm filter for protection.

Thanks for the comments. It confirms my suspicions that I would be better off with an RX or S100 as the simple 'carry it anywhere' is a big appeal. Lens cap ok for me, it hangs off the camera with string.

I used an LX3 which i Loved but I drove over it(don't ask) and I have been meaning to replace it, I think I will go out and get myself the LX7 as I was very happy with the last one, but I have also been looking at the Panasonic FZ200 bridge camera 600mm f2.8 lens and 200fps in video!! decisions.
