Micro Four Thirds Lens Advice

I am going to the Paralympics and want to buy a more powerful lens for my Olympus Pen Mini.

Do I go for the Olympus M.Zuiko 40-150mm or the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 45-200mm?

They are about the same price, the Olympus is lighter but the Panasonic has the better zoom.

Does anyone have any advice or experience of these lenses?

I have the Panasonic one. Its currently on special offer at Argos for £199 and Panasonic are running another cash back on it knocking another 50 quid off. It has pretty effective OIS, beyond that I can't comment on the comparison to the Olympus lens but from everything I have read there isn't a great deal of difference between the m4/3 teles.

The Panasonic hasn't got a good reputation and they are replacing it soon with a shorter zoom length.

Considering you've got an Olympus camera with built in stablisisation, I think you'll be best suited with the 40-150mm. It's also significantly lighter, and with a Pen mini you'll notice that.

I had a look at the Panasonic lens in John Lewis today and it was huge on my camera. It just didn't look right.
So I'm looking at the Olympus 40-150.
It was at £175 on Amazon a week or two ago but is back up to £220. So I am waiting to see if the price drops again. Also keeping an eye on the bay.

I've got the Panasonic 45-175mm and it's extremely impressive considering its size. I'd recommend you try one of those if you haven't already.

Thanks for the advice, but that lens is out of my price range.
I'm looking to spend less than £200.

Just purchased a new Olympus 40-150mm for £169 from the bay.
