Has anyone been able to secure a discount from a reputable dealer? I'm currently in the process of selling up some of my existing kit to buy one.

Cheers,

Gary.

If you want a proper UK shop Flash Centre has them for £2949 inc VAT and a 32Gb 500x CF card http://www.theflashcentre.com/canon-eos-5d-mkiii-i...

Online grey import but with UK warranty Flash Camera (Kerso) had them for £2600

Online grey import with non UK warranty Panamoz was doing them for around £2000.

I agree entirely but it doesn't seem to stop people.

Depends on the perception of the Relative Risk of a failure vs the amount of cash in the bank and the potentially lower used selling price if attempting to sell within the guarantee period.

At £2000 it's a big saving for the probably small potential aggro of the risk of shipping outside the UK for warranty work - or simply paying for a repair.

(Un)Fortunately this is not a decision I will be making in the near future ... frown

A friend has been keeping them busy over the past few weeks ordering a 5dmkIII, various lenses and flash units. All with no issues (so far).

I'll probably try them for my next lens purchase.

I heard about them from a contact on TP who bought a 5DmkIII and seems very happy.

Thanks for the replies. Digitalrev does look quite appealing at £2220 (assuming you don't get hit for import duty on top). Talking to some fellow photographers at work, there's a chance that four of us look to get a 5d mk3 at the same time - hopefully that would command a decent discount at a UK dealer?

Gary.

I wonder how many people on here would still talk about/or would give discounts if it was their own business or if their livelyhoods were dependant on the sales of photo gear .

The fact that four of you all want one shows the demand, and why the prices will stay solid until the camera has been around for while.

Four of us want one yes, but at least two will not buy unless we can get a reasonable discount!
