Good man, enjoy. Just remember because you can take shots at 10mm doesn't mean you have to, something I have to be careful of, I find a lot of my shots at 17mm on FF.

I was at least partially inspired by this page on Ken Rockwell's site (which I like lots).

Especially the "get close!" advice.

I went for the Tokina 11-16mm instead - I'd have been happy with the Canon but a few comments just swayed me towards the Tokina. Looking forward to hearing (and seeing) how you get on with it though. Hopefully the rain will lift enough to actually be able to use it sometime before September.

Great choice! I went for the Tokina a couple of years ago and the UWAs are just wonderful.

One word of warning though - it's great for family snaps but be careful with the ultra wide part of the lens and faces at the edge of the shot as they do get distorted quite badly. It's the one downside of UWA - you can get the whole room - but the people just look a bit weird. have fun though!
