Doea anyone have any high ISO (1600 +) taken at dusk?

My 1D2 is struggling and gets very noisy at this level, so I'm looking for something with a bit more up to date processing and sensor tech.

Thanks.

Not on me, but I could try tonight if I get time.

You could go over to dpreview.com and read their review though. They have a very detailed ISO image quality section http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos7d/15. You are aware you're going from a full frame to a crop sensor if you get a 7D?

pixel-peeper is a great site if you want to look at specific shots from specific lens/camera combos and specific settings. I think I have linked you to all 7D shots taken at 1600-12800 ISO.

The 1D2 is a 1.3 crop, so not quite full frame.
I'm hoping that the couple of generation newer sensor will yield an improvement.

7D is quite competent for high ISO shots for a crop body, not quite as good as the D7000 etc.

A modern ff sensor will be better though.

This for wildlife, landscape or what?

All ISO 1600/3200 means is smaller prints, I'll have a look for some higher ISO shots from my 7D, I'm sure no one wants to see the gecko shot again!

I have a 1DS for landscape, this is the 7 was mainly to be for action at dusk. I took this a few weeks back at ISO3200 on the 1D2 and it took a lot of NR to tidy it up, but it's still not great.

It looks like the 7 idea has been put on hold now anyway as the PX deal offered makes it not worthwhile getting rid of the 1D, their values have tanked recently.

I think I shall just save for a 1D3 instead.

Cheers
