Digital compact camera advice please

My wife and I seem to get through digial cameras like they are going out of fashion

the latest a canon powershot a3100 got wet on holiday and is now dead

can anyone suggest a cheap compact that is a bit sturdier than normal, or one cheap enough that i can throw it away without worrying if it gets damaged

After buying and selling four waterproof/knockproof cameras, I can tell you that the only one which takes half-decent snapshots is the Panasonic Lumix FT10. All the others (inc. Fuji, Canon, Olympus) had some serious drawbacks in their image quality.

Now available for a bargain price, I believe.

i am thinking i will buy 2nd hand off ebay or similar

anything over 5mps will do i guess

Ebay do some good reconditioned pocket Fujis. My daughter has one and it's quite a neat little camera but doen't zoom on video which is it's only drawback.
