I love the look of these too.
I don't have one and haven't used one, but I have a friend who does.
He had some problem with the lens not stopping down properly, but that was sorted quickly under warranty.
Apparently the finder is brilliant, and high ISO performance very impressive.
Personally, I'd go for something with interchangeable lenses, but I believe the fixed prime is pretty good.
I like how shutter speed and aperture controls are where they should be too.
Have you had a chance to handle it?

It's a fair bit of money for what is really a compact camera in some ways, but everything about it makes me want one, depite the fact I don't need another camera, and that I'm also after a 7D.
I've not been lucky enough to see or use one but I've read or watched everything I can find, and it really looks to be capable of taking some astonishing photos, both razor sharp and with fantastic colour.

I was going to suggest that, but unless I'm mistaken it's almost twice the price for just the body?And if you're going to spend £1400+, why not go for an M8?

Certain reviews I've read would give you the impression that the X100 out performs he X1 in some situations too - it has a broader ISO range for example and some argue the X100 handles high ISO better.
I've already got an old Takumar 28mm lens hood on the way - I just need the camera now!

Cracking bit of kit and even with my limited skills I get some half decent results. Low light is particularly good with pretty much all iso settings being usable, I odnt think Ive ever used the built in flash.
With regard to the lens you get used to it and I quite enjoy having to compose without zooming in and out.
Have to emphasis that Im a very amateur photographer but I love it and use it pretty much exclusively these days.
