Time Lapse Photography

i want to make a time lapse film of the build of a car. should take about 6 weeks, all indoor, controlled environment, constant lighting.
i think we are looking at webcams for a number of practicality reasons. anyone have any experience of very high quality web cams?

You can use a standard Canon point and shoot with either a time-lapse timer (buy on ebay) or a laptop/pc with a bit of software.

yup, understand that. but for practicality reasons, we want to use webcams.

there's a good program i use called dslr pro which does time lapse
