TripodHeads - Speed Matters

While we're talking Tripods, a related question but didn't want to take other thread OT.

Are two heads better than one?

Currently using an old 055c (sourced on Fleabay for a good price) I sold off the action head and invested in a Kirk ballhead. It's ideal for stills, suits me anyway.

I don't want to give this up, but I suppose it's going to be useless if I start shooting dSLR video.

What would you recommend for a second head? Or should I really consider another tripod?

I'm not personally interested in video so far but I sort of gather peripheral information in passing and it seems to me that people are buying a lot of kit in order to be in a position to make properly presentable video output. The videos may be shot on a DSLR capable body with DSLR type lenses but pretty much all ancilliary equipment - tripods, heads, lighting, etc, is different (not to mention sound recording and so on).

Mental calculations based on no formal collection of prices but with a rough feel for what people seem to be doing, come up with a starting figure of around £1500 to £2000. Not a trivial investment required on top of the cost of camera and lenses.

I'm more than happy with my geared head - but I guess it comes down to what you're going to be shooting.
