recomend me a lens

Don't complicate matters - someone's going to recommend a 14mm f/2.8 in a mo......Back to the start: you like to take panoramas and graffiti. We presume that you do that OK with the lens you have, so what is the task for the new lens? Or do you want a higher quality version of whatever lens it is you currently have?

On DX I have been using 17mm-plus and I don't think that's always wide enough for graffiti shots - especially if you're thinking subways and needing to be in close. I had a 10.5mm fisheye, but you might not want a fisheye effect.
For panorama, you can use anything really, but if you go wide the problem will be stitching images with distortion.
(Simpo, don't laugh....) Actually I quite often use a 45mm manual lens in portrait mode and handhold a series which I then allow PS or PS Elements to autostitch - works a treat for me.

Nope, I agree - I took a 360 panorama in NZ at about the same length. It's 23,004 x 1,357px!

Frankly it seems absurd that nobody has made one yet. The benefits are obvious. If they could make it no bigger, heavier or more expensive than a 'nifty' then in my opinion it would sell reasonably well. I think Simpo had an idea once for something like a 10-1000mm f/0.9 AF-S VRII ED Nano Micro with built in Speedlight. I've been looking out for one of those!
In all seriousness to the OP. It sounds like you like your wide shots. It would be worth looking at the Tokina 11-16. PH is beginning to sound like a broken record recommending this lens but it really is exceptional. It's not the cheapest ultra wide (it's about £400 used) and it's not the widest but it is exceptionally sharp, near distortion free and built to survive a nuclear winter. Constant F/2.8 can be useful too.

Nikon D5000 with the 18-55 kit lens and a nikon nikkor AF-S NIKKOR 50MM f/1.4g (which is for sale £300 p.m me for details)as for what i want, i would like a wide lens which i dont have to stand miles back from the wall to fit it all in

The Nikon 10-24mm second hand is under £500.....it's a DX lens. That replaced the 12-24mm.....which is fixed aperture....not sure how they compare.
You could do worse than having a look here

They carry a lot of second hand kit and have a good reputation but also list new equipment alongside so gives you a decent idea of what is in the market at that price both from Nikon and Sigma etc...
