Places To Sell Lenses??

I've got a lens I want to sell, it isnt getting much interest on Talk Photography and I dont really want to put it on Ebay and pay the extortiante fees.
Is there any other sites people can reccomend?

Gumtree, preloved, PH classifieds and AV forums if you want to sell privately. You could also ring MPB, FFordes etc and see what they would offer you.

Alternatively, what lens is it? You never know, somebody reading might be interested.

Also try Aperture UK and let us know what it is Not much is selling at the moment, there have been some bargains on eBay over Christmas

I bought a s/h lens from Grays (ie top money) and sold it for even more on eBay. OK you lose 15% but the market is global. Whatever, sell privately - if you trade it in you'll get peanuts.

Really? I found some lenses on eBay of late and checked around to see what they are worth and Grey's wanted 5x what I'd paid for them!!

I was surprised too. There is an element of luck of course, but you can also help things along by taking smart photos of the items and an intelligent, literate description. That way people will pay more for your lens than another one. Mine was a Nikon 24-85mm AF-S, quite a rare lens that evolved into the 18-70mm DX.

Thanks guys, there is a couple of places there that I hadn't heard of so will give them a try.

I didn't mention on here what lens it was as I wasn't sure if its against PH rules or not, its a Sigma 15-30mm f3.5-4.5 Nikon fit by the way....

I was quite suprised by how much I was offered for trade ins by MPB. A bit less than I'd expect for a private sales but only by about 10%.

I have emailed MPB, it so happens they have the lens I want to replace it with so it would be handy if they did part exchange deals.

They do, and will often give quite good prices.

MBP have offered me a price Im happy with, I just need to send them some pics of it this evening before finalising.
