GoPro SD Cards

Not been able to find anything on the search so I'll ask afresh

I'm after an SD card (or 3) for my new GoPro HD Hero2.

I've got a 16GB Sandisk Class 4 in my old GoPro HD Hero and it barely keeps up (struggles on occasion)

I want 16GB and class 6 or higher. Any shops/site you recommend? Any experience you can share?

You want Class 10 ideally for the HD2, I think the thing that taxes it most is the 0.5s timelapse function though.

I just bought an Integral 16GB Class 10 card from amazon for about £14, seems to be working OK so far.

I've 2x 32Gb class 10's from Amazon (amazons own brand cards) that I use in my GoPro, bought them last year and paid peanuts for them compared to other places...

Cheers guys. Does anyone know what write speed I'll need for the 0.5s timelapses? some class 10's are 10mb/s others are nearer 20mb/s and some are a lot higher, but the costs shoot up.

Has anyone tried the 7dayshop own brand?

I used to use 7dayshop when I was still living in Blighty, but out of 3x 16Gb SDHC's I ordered, 1x of them never worked at all, that could just have been a one off though...

Class 10 should all have a burst rate of 30mb class 6 are 20mb

Was a bit wary as never heard of them before and can be hit or miss with SDHC cards.

Not had any problems...handles burst mode and timelapse no problems.

Read the reviews on the site, people have done speed tests and they are up there with ones twice the price

I use a couple of play.com own make 32gb class 10 cards amongst others and they work fine for the 0.5 second time lapses and video and they are only £17.99 delivered

A friend has this one and he says it doesn't work in his Hero2. He has a transcend and a Sandisk Extreme ultra thing. Both work, but he tells me the Sandisk works a lot better. Noticeably better. But it is nearly twice the price.

I've always used class 4 15mbs sandisk ultra 2s in mine. Never had a problem such as jumping.

I've got a HD Hero and a HD Hero2. I'm going to be keeping the old one. Its still really really good. I've only just started playing with the new one and it is noticeably better. But the original is still very good. I got the HD2 as it was part sponsorship for my trip to Siberia in Feb; http://www.justgiving.com/Guinea-Pig taking a motorbike and side-car to the Arctic circle to raise money for Macmillan. So we're taking 3 GoPro's and 2 DSLR's to get as much footage for sponsors and personal memories as we can. Just need a few more memory cards to film as much as possible!

Has he formatted it in the camera using the built in format option? Mine didn't work straight out the box or after formatting on the pc...once formatted in the camera works fine

Similar to these are the 7dayshop ones. Also 32GB and Class 10 for £23 delivered. Use a pair of these in my GoProHD (v1).

Good thread! I need to ET a card when my HD2 arrives. I also have an HD with a class10 card but can't remember where I've put it right now!
