Which Photobook?

Hi all,

I'm buying my first house ( etc ) and would like to do a photobook of my favourite wildlife stuff to have as a "coffee table" book.

Who would the pistonheads P&V section reccomend, i've searched but cant find any relevent topic that are particularly up to date, and i know how these things can change.

At the moment i'm liking the look of the Blurb ones, but am open to suggestions!

Looks like Blurb has a good rep . I was leaning toward them anyway so thats good. Thanks guys!

Mark - I have used photobox before for some calanders and i was very happy with them, but some of my friends have had mixed results with them. Although i rather suspect the images used may have contributed to this!

Blurb - apart from anything else they are much cheaper than photobox.

I've orderd from Blurb dozens of times (I sell them in local shop), never been let down. Only downside takes much longer to arrive than Photobox

Graphistudio do some of the best photo books around but they are pricey!

Another vote for Blurb here. An alternative also worth looking is MyPublisher - they're a little more expensive than Blurb, but a bit better quality. I seem to recall that Blurb don't charge VAT, but MyPublisher does, so that opens up the price difference too.

Thanks for all the advice guys, have decided to go for Blurb!

I've put all my photo's into the BookSmart tool (i like thats its not done in-browser) i have just have to add text now.

So to all those that reccomended Blurb to me, which paper looks nicer Premium Matte or Premium Lustre? I know from working in a Lab that i like lustre paper, but cant imagine it in a book!

Are the Proline papers worth uprgrading too?

No-one with an opinion on the Blurb papers? last bump this time, promise

Sorry, missed this earlier. TBH I don't think the upgrades are worth the extra. The thicker paper doesn't improve the quality of the print (which is fine, if not stunning). If I were you I'd order one with softcover, no extras.... and then have a look see. I think you'll be happy with standard. If not, you can spend extra money.

Hi GetCarter,

Thanks for that. I had decided to go for a basic hardcover version anyway, just becuase i much prefer hardcover boooks! I will stick to the standard paper though if its of no advantage quality wise to uprgrade. Save some pennies!
