Sensor Cleaning

The sensor in my camera could do with a clean (I'm not brave enough to do it myself!)

What's the best way to go about getting this done?

1. Find a mate you know you can trust who already cleans his or her own sensors.

2. Take it to camera store. Most will offer a service in exchange for a fee.

3. Buy a kit and do it yourself. Especially if you are likely to need to do it more than once since the kit (or device) will probably cost about the same as a couple of cleans.

Whereabouts are you based? You may be lucky and get some local advice from other posters near you.

Are you sure it needs cleaning ? The few times I've noticed dust on images I've just help the camera pointing downwards and given the sensor a blow with an hand air bulb.

This. Get a rocket blower for less than £10 and give it a damn good puffing, it's all I've ever needed to clean mine.
