Corrupt DVD - Have I Lost Images?

Rookie mistake I know but I have put some pictures onto a DVD+R disk and now when I put the disk into any computer it freezes and wont read, I suspect the disk is buggered.
I havent got the images saved anywhere else, have I lost them completely now?

Probably an obvious thing to say but have you thoroughly cleaned the DVD from the centre hole outwards. (not circular movements) This often works.

ETA also try the DVD in another 'puter, some readers are more robust than others

Here's another straw to clutch from the 19" rack-mounted broadcast-quality box of straws - try another machine. Has the disk ever worked?

To be honest I never checked the disk once I put the images on there, I just assumed it did
I quickly deleted everything off the harddrive as I was selling the laptop and put the disk to one side.

Now I want to upload them and it wont work.
I have tried it in 2 PC's at work and my MacBook, wont work in any of them. Have tried cleaning it yes, was hoping someone on here would have some magic advice before I bang my head against a wall.

Had you written DVD+Rs that way before with success? I'm just wondering if you burned it as a DVD-ROM (ie data) or something else.

Have a look underneath - can you see a suitable sized 'ring' representing the data or did you make a coaster?

Yes I have done that way many a time and they have always worked.
Looking underneath it there doesnt appear to be any information burnt on.

That would appear to be curtains then, sorry. And if you've sold the hard drive they were on they can't be recovered that way.

Dont know why I didnt think of this before to be honest, I have contacted the magazine I did the work for and they are burning me a copy of their disk.
