Buying a gear in SE Asia

I'm heading off to SE Asia for two weeks holiday this December, I thought I might buy myself a Chrimbo present whist I am out there, I will be in Bangkok but could also end up in Singapore or KL.

The question is whether I will make any decent savings on a Nikon lense in any of these cities?

Any recommendations would be great.

From my experience in KL - no. Photography stuff is cheaper in the UK, not even mentioning warranty issues.

I live in Singapore and bought my dSLR in Jessops in Bournemouth - it was cheaper than duty free in Singapore. You might want to see what deals you can get in Funan Mall if you make it to Singapore though. The FX rate is not your friend I'm afraid.

I saved about 20% in Funan mall last October on a D90 although I live in Dubai so not sure what UK prices are like.

Tbh I didn't realise about the warranty side of things until after but it probably still wouldn't have put me off.

Claiming the tax back was so easy, had it back in my hand in cash 10 mins after purchasing, counter is in the mall. Just had to show the receipt at the airport before I left.
