Is any one on here a friend or member of the BIPP?

I am toying with joining as a friend and wondered if it is worth the money:

Is this the one that'll take you as long as you pay them, or the one that judges the merit of the photography?

Friend level is the 'buy yourself not quite in' limited membership option. The merit option (which is more money but gives you full membership) requires 20 commissions with tear sheets or other evidence and I don't have that many!

Was wondering if anyone was a paid up member of either and if it was worth it

As a pro I have been a member of just about all the professional bodies at one time or another and I have found non of them particularly good. The BIPP had a reasonable social side and the best legal back up but if your interest is photography rather than the business the RPS probably does all you want. The only organisation that seems to actually look after photographers and is there for them rather than themselves however is the AOP.
