Mach Loop 21/07/11

Arrived just after 10am but surprisingly there was no one else up on Bwlch so had to entertain myself. Had my phone playing some tunes so was bopping around on my own on the ledge until I realised that people from the road below will have been able to see me dancing away to The Beastie Boys and The Chemical Brothers . I stopped after that but it passed about an hour .

The area didn't fail with it's quickly changing weather. The first 30 mins it was fine, then it went freezing so I had all my waterproofs on, then it warmed up again. I decided to take my waterproofs off so took my boots off, as soon I'd done that I heard a rumble and looked up to see a few Tucano's appear in the distance. I ended up pulling my waterproofs back, grabbed the camera and ran to the edge of the ledge bare foot avoiding all the sheep poo. Probably looked like I was going to jump the speed I got to the edge at!

They very kindly did two passes for me so I'd managed to get my boots back on for the second one!

Unfortunately nothing else appeared after that and I had to leave at 1530 otherwise I'd have stayed until about 1800.

May bob down again next week though weather dependant. (first pics a bit HDR'd)

It's vapour caused by a steep turn. The F15's nearly always create this effect which is quite amazing when you are in the right position with a camera. There are some stunning images of them on Fox2.

Great photos,i got a wing tip from a f15 last week was about 400ft low level flying at its best
