Looking at getting a cheapy camera and was pointed in the direction of Fuji's online shop and their own refurb cameras.
They have a refurb S2800HD with a 4gb card for £116 inc vat and post. Sounds like a good idea rather than spending similar money on a pocket camera, least that's what I was thinking. Any opinions would be great. Thanks

That's about the price of a meal for 4 at one's favourite Indian restaurant.
Why not try it? If you don't like it, unlike the meal, you could flog it and put the residual value towards something else.
At that end of the market you will probably be happy and unhappy with the results depending in what you are snapping and when. The investment is not the end of the world. I have a couple of cameras that work fine for some things 'social' but ar not my natural devices of choice for most things. £100, +/- 30%, buys into that market.

That's what I was thinking. Was just wondering if anyone was going to pop up and tell some horrors of buying a factory refurb, or that this model is just junk even as new.
I don't do much photography, but I do have a special occasion next month which I would like some decent pictures of, plus have the restoration of my car which I'd like to document, so given anything decent pocket wise is not dissimilar money, the extra features on this would be good.

I can't speak for Fuji but I have bought a few items from the Canon refurb shop and not been disappointed.
One developed a fault within the warranty period and was fixed very quickly by the official repair agent. I would imagine Fuji are much the same.
I don't know the camera model at all but I would imagine there are reviews around on the web that would allow you to read between the lines and help form your decision. You may have done that already.
