Nikon D80 repair recommendation

Hi all,

The other half has a Nikon D80 that has stopped working; it throws up the fault code "ERR" all the time.

I've done some searching on the web and it seems to be a common fault. I've tried taking the battery out overnight, fully charging the battery, another memory card, cleaning the contacts for the lens but nothing's working so we're going to have to resort to putting it in for repair.

Does anyone know of a good camera repair shop in the midlands area? The nearer to Warwick the better!

When I broke my D80 trying to clean it I shipped it back to Nikon with a postit on it saying what the problem was (Broken, pls quote)

They've got quite a slick system that sends you an email with an explanation of whats wrong with it, a quote if you want them to fix it, or pay the postage and they'll send it back to you. Mine needed a new shutter, cost a couple of hundred quid in the end

Only place I've used for repairs (lenses rather than body) is Fixation in Vauxhall, London.

When I had the same problem on my D80 it turned out to be a short circuit in the area where the cable release plugs in to the camera body. Fixed it on location with a set of tweezers.
