What software was used to create this?

I want to have a go and have shot the JPEG's. How do I convert into a similar video? How was the sound added?

It's not really stop motion, it's more like time lapse. Stop motion is an animation technique. Anyway, there are lots of packages that will take a stream of jpgs and turn them into a time-lapse, or take a movie and do the same. I've tried Flix before and it seems pretty good.

I imagine the sound would have been added using something like Windows Movie Maker or Final Cut Pro or suchlike.

Unless I'm doing it wrong Flix is looking for a camera. I have the images, just want to put them into a movie. Flix was the fourth package I tried. Timelapse, Animator DV and VideoMach being the others.

Seriously though, how can I create a timelapse video from a set of jpegs and be able to add a sound track?

Depending on how much you want to spend you can use windows movie maker or blow some cash on either Adobe After Effects or Premier Pro.

I found an option in the menus of my Nikon D5000 to do a stop motion film. Haven't tried it yet, but will do soon.

Thanks everyone! I've found a new way of consuming time and money! I had a go yesterday - set the D300s on a tripod in the garden and set it to shoot every 60secs for an hour. Cue the long suffering wife asking 'now what you doing?' whilst she was gardening...

Stitched it together at 3fps and it wasn't a bad start. As I live on the coast I might have a go at the tide coming in around a derelict boat in the creek.
