Stolen camcorder and camera :(

Hello all,
My Panasonic TM700 camcorder and Panasonic Lumix TZ10 camera got stolen on holiday. Luckily insurance has covered it.
I'm looking to replace both. With the camcorder, it will either be the same but upgraded (TM900) or a new direction entirely which is the Sony TG7 (http://tinyurl.com/yz2nc9p)
If anyone has seen comparison videos of both, could you please point me in the right direction. I loved the picture quality of the TM700 but the compactness of the Sony has me thinking twice. If the difference in picture quality isn't huge, I might opt for the Sony.
Also would like some recommendations for a replacement digital camera with a £250 budget.
With both products, I'm just using these for holidays and family events and editing them myself so am looking at these at a consumer point of view rather than for professional work.
