Having hated it before I decided to give it a go as its been a while.

Seems Ok now, kinda getting into it. Probably not tagging my pics enough, only really uploaded the one (new) pic anyhow.

What groups are good, whats the best way to use it?

The new grab the code thing is much improved over the old hacky way, and I seem to have picked up a fair few contacts already!

I usually post in the groups which promote comments and favourites. You end up with some daft 'Travel award' or 'Beautiful picture of the day' splattered all over your comments section, but it definitely generates views.

I also use the very large groups which bring in plenty of views.

I've gone from about 40,000 views to 85,000 in a couple of months mainly from tagging all my shots and posting to about 20 or so groups each so it seems to work

I like Flickr but possibly not the best if you want to make money from your pics.

The best thing for me was being invited to be part of Foto X 1000 which was an exhibition in Rome of photos from people around the world. OK, I never got to see it but it brightened my day nonetheless.

I often spend more time putting the photo's into groups than I do taking them
There are just so many, if Im doing car photo's then there are about 50 groups I use.

I tend to look at the local groups as i struggle to find interesting things to snap,the map with geotagging i find useful as it can gives you a clue as what to expect from a location

And no explored yet, after almost a week! Was going to post a pic of some old boots yesterday see if that had any luck...

I read an article about how to get into Explore and all their "research" basically explained that it's down to blind luck.

Yeah I know. I'm culling some old ones I put up about 5 years ago. Also just loaded up a random set of processed for web stuff so its quite a mess so far.

I've a pro account linked to my broadband email account but its a pain in the arse to use when this one is integrated with my mail etc. I'm almost convinced to pay up.

As to blind luck, well I've won a compo this week already, got an order for 72 A1 prints and manage to switch a sigma 70-200 into a canon one, so I guess I'm all used up..
