Family Photo ideas

We won a family photo session at the local studio and are now looking for ideas as what to do without being samey as everyone else.

Seems that everyone has a deep, canvas print of the family in a completely white background with blue jeans and a single colour top hung on their wall

What could we do that is different, and if you have examples, show us.

Family group is 2 parents, 2 children (3&5) & 2 grand parents, doesn't have to be all of us though.

You could ask for a black background. That'd fox 'em, you need electric darkbulbs for that.
