Trying out a new EBay purchase, Nikon P1000, the zoom range is very impressive!

A friend of mine has one of those. After he bought it, he used to send us pictures of the Moon. It is was a clear night, it would be Moon morning for the rest of us. Excellent quality. Some of his gibbous images, particularly of the line between light and dark, were quite remarkable, but there are only so many nice things you can say about pictures of the same subject.

I was impressed with the camera quaity though. The s/h price makes it something ofa bargain.

It is an impressive zoom range, I must admit, the moon is the first thing I tried with it.. But I’m starting to get it out of my system laugh The OH is sick of seeing photos of it now..

I’m quite looking forward to the possibilities of the camera and photographing wildlife.

It is quite limited with its iso range though, anything above 125 gets grainy, but the sensor is smaller than most smart phone ones I think! The 4K quality is very impressive though, almost more so than the stills.

There are some interesting videos on Youtube using the P1000 to view Saturn and its rings

yes I tried it in B&W (and Sepia just for something different) too and it worked quite well, but I ended up still preferring the colour version.

Nothing special about this, just the first photo out of my lovely, shiny new Canon R6 and used-but-new-to-me Tamron 24-70 f2.8. I think I'm really going to like this camera!!! woohoo

I headed to our local nature reserve to see what birds might be around. Near the entrance to the park, I saw this woman who was surrounded by pigeons, and who seemed to be loving and encouraging the attention with strategically placed pieces of bread in her arms. So, an opportunistic shot which captures a moment of (slightly eccentric) pleasure.

Spotted the reflection in the bus window on Saturday evening.

(mirrored for the route information)

I quite like that it captures London and a trip with the kids.
