So i was out and about early this morning - dropping step son off at work - so took the chance to wander towards town and have a fly

If you look at the brick building with 6 small ish windows on the right hand side of it, on the roof is a perspex box. It's weird because it has stuff in it but there is no visible way to get into it, besides one side is broken and the local flying rats have made if their home.
Quite grey this morning but now sunshine and clouds

Finally, you often don't see how green your town is until you are up in the air, spot the drone operator

My older brother had a static caravan down that way for a while, think he bought me a Purple Moose gift set a couple of years back![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)

Questions:
1.) Does anyone else spend the entire time they are flying in a state of abject terror? Or just me?
2.) Can you swap the functions of the control sticks?
Anyway, to stay on topic, I got some OK pics today, I think there's something amazing to be had from this location but I need to get way better at piloting this thing:

Got some video footage too but I'm increasinly convinced I lack the manual dexterity to be smooth enough on the inputs. Or I need to find a way to reduce the severity of the inputs, which I guess might be possible.

No, not just you. It’s why I can’t contribute to this thread! Blind panic from the moment it takes off. 1.) Does anyone else spend the entire time they are flying in a state of abject terror? Or just me?

Video from earlier. You can see what I mean about inputs - to get really good results you've either got to be insanely gentle or smooth, or have one single linear input and then cut to the next piece of footage. Off to do some research I think!
It does take a bit of getting used to smooth inputs and the only thing that will build up the skill, is time spent in the air.
I'm no expert by any stretch of the imagination but i seem to recall that there is a theory that states to become an expert at anything, requires 10,000 hours of practice.
Okay that probably applies more to things like sports, music etc but the principle applies to flying drones too, the more time spent in the air, the better you will get and the smoother your inputs will be.
I'm also aware of the irony of me saying practice makes perfect![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
Decent pics though dobbo, i almost thought it was Minehead for a moment until i realised the head land was the wrong way round but definitely good pics

Minehead is just a short hop away by drone - and a long drive by car ![hehe](/inc/images/hehe.gif)
As a PC gamer for more years than I care to remember, I want left hand to be forward backward and strafe, and the right hand to be look. The default was the opposite, but entirely predictably you can swap it.
I flew it round my office showing off to my mate and crashed it instantly, but it's fine because it was so much more intuitive following the change.
I think I'll have as much as 3 or 4 percent less anxiety next time I fly!
