Looks great!

www.flashpointgame.com

But I suspect the lack of multiplayer will seriously hurt sales.

Ooo looks good. I liked the last one, but I agree it will just be out shone by battlefield, COD etc with no real multiplayer...

I do quite like the idea of 4 player co-op though

Yeah does sound interesting! But how good would it be to have the realism of flashpoint with like 16 a side matches

This will be published by Codemasters and not BIS, so don't expect any of the realistic parts you are used to. (BIS now publish the ARMA series which is their true Flashpoint sequel).

The last Codemasters Flashpoint 'Dragon Rising' was sodding awful.

Yep, one of the most dissapointing games I have played, shocking graphics and enemies respawning in houses that my team had cleared.

Total dross.

Quite agree. Dragon Rising was fundamentally broken. The level with anti-aircraft guns is pretty much impossible to complete as the air-assault seems to just fly straight into it when you get within shooting distance of the AA guns.

I never finished Dragon Rising due to the dismal AI of the helicopter crew on the mission where you have to rescue them. And even then, capturing the airfield on level 3 was hard enough!

I'm just hoping this game will have had the attention necessary to fix all the niggling bugs that DR had. I felt DR could have been a half decent game Codemasters had worked out the bugs.

well... just bit the bullet so to speak. we shall see. Bought it for the co-op multiplayer more than anything. The last one was fun, but the fact that people would spawn behind you pretty much ruined and made it impossible to win.

It just got an 8/10 review on Eurogamer. They say the co-op experience is one of the best out there…

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-04-21-opera...

It sounds much improved, but won't satisfy the needs of hardcore warnographers expecting levels of realism akin to those in the Bohemia Interactive originals.

well, my verdict is its bloody amazing. Fixed 99% of the problems with the first one.

Whoever said it wouldnt be realistic was lying, you still bleed and have to heal yourself, only 3-4 hits will kill you outright.

only problem ive come across so far is that most of the game seems to be carried out at range, so scout is the class to be!

I'm tempted by this one because the original OFP was superb, but Dragon Rising was such a massive st sandwich I don't think I'll risk it.

I'm quite enjoying it. it's a lot better than the last one. The AI can still be retarded at times but it's better than before. And the developers defiantly sat down with the box set of Generation kill when they where making this. some of the dialogue is copied more or less word for word.

I wish they would've given it sharpshooter compatibility, not sure I want to play another fps with a pad now.

Pff... mouse and keyboard is the only way to play FPS games. no gimmicks for me.
