Bought this on a margain basement buy from Amazon a couple of days ago

Seems like such a wasted opportunity, in that the actual game world is great fun with the ability to go anywhere and blow up everything in site, but the bugs almost totally destroy it:

- Constant situations where I find a gun upgrade but for reasons best known to the game, cant pick it up

- Targeting is a joke, particularly for the Casino level where you have to destroy the helicopter (target goes red on pilot, can destroy his screen but cant seem to touch him - blowing up the actual helicopter seems totally random)

- Voice acting, whilst not a bug, is just soooooo awful!

- Got in a checkpoint save where no matter what I did at restart I could not get to the helicopter and destroy it before it killed 'Blaine' - resulted in having to use an old save and lose progress

I started my time in Software QA in a games company, and whilst I appreciate 100% is too much to ask, some of these issues are just so blindingly obvious its a disgrace it got out the door in such a state

I've not had a single problem with JC2.

I did have problems with the orignal JC. When after completing the story line, everybody started shooting at me.

Bizzare!

The weapons issue is doing my head in, are you PS3 or XB360?

There's a couple of good youtube compilations of physics bugs and similar. E.g. when a helicopter's rotors hit a powerline, the blades stopped and the helicopter spun as fast as the blades.

I've not seen too many bugs with JC2 - I agree about the voice acting, though. I actually can't play the missions because I don't want to trigger a cutscene. Still, its a fun game to just troll around blowing st up. Or attaching people to soon-to-be blowing up st.

neither, I'm on PC.

Don't buy these sorts of games for consoles.

Rented it via Lovefilm for 360 and, while I agree on the shocking acting, never experienced a bug.

I completed it last year and don't remember any bugs.

The whole game is supposed to have the feel of a cheesy B-movie and the voice acting is part of that.

Actually, i'm now going to go and dig this game out and try all the crazy stunts I never got around to first time wink

Nuts

Right, so Casino level

Going down the road just after the 4 large fuel tanks that are in a compound when you are stood on top of Baines weird car

"We gotta go, the goverment goons are coming!"

Going along the road just after youi've passed some hoodlums with 3 cars at the side of the road and you come across the next set of "Goons" - theres a weapon box with a M16 type weapon

I'm holding sub machine guns, but when I stand over/by the M16 there is no option to pick up or excahnge the M16 for the sub

(this is just one example - seem to get several like this)

Also hacks me off that when you pick up a Mini gun of its mounting, you cant get on transport so its impractical to carry it as its too slow and you cant advance with Blaine whilst holding it

I do agree its generally a fun game for blasting though

Erm, you can certainly walk with it.

And wipe out anything within visible range. The turret minigun and rocket launcher was a great laugh.

Who's Blaine? Your character was called Rico iirc?

(BTW, with regard to helicopters, I seem to recall that you had to hang off the front, then duck back before popping out again to shoot them, or something.)
