The second one was a huge title for the PS3 but the third installment seems to have slipped in under the radar with very little fanfare. Has anyone got it already? Is it any good?

Spent many hours palying the multiplayer on 2, it was great fun. Tempted to take the plunge, just interested to see if any PH's have first hand experience and can offer any views.

Watched the youtube demo of the move controls, looks very good....

Especially when you do a Google search of the guns being released....

Can't wait, should probably get my order in for the gun I want, as it doesn't appear to be available outside the US

I will be getting it. Really enjoyed 2 and Black Ops has been a huge disappointment so I need a new FPS

'2' was the first game I played properly online - made it to General through hard work and toil. '3' is released on Friday. Reviews state that the single player is less immersive than '2' (which was hardly a lesson in the use of imagination). However, the Games' strength (as with '2') is with the Multi-Player, which is regarded to be an improvement over '2' (which I loved).

As always, the COD Boys will no doubt complain about the speed of the Killzone Multiplayer engine. However, I always preferred the 'more realistic' dynamics of the game in the sense that it didn't feel like you were pressing 'fast forward' everytime you moved your character. I've never really got on with COD in this respect. After all, a soldier packing a mini-gun is not exactly going to win any sprint races with all that extra weight on board.

A definite purchase for me.....

For a better description than I can give, YouTube search "Killzone 3 playstation move"

If you haven't already got Move, then it'll add to the cost by about £100, I do have move and its still gonna be 50 odd quid for the rifle...

Speaking of which, do another search, this time Google, for "playstation move rifle", and look at the lovelies being made....

Just checked it out, it looks awesome. however I have a couple of reservations.

1) I may be a bit too old to be playing with guns in my living room, I already get enough ridicule as it is from the other half (even though she enjoys a game or two herself) I can't imagine the look on her face as I jump around shooting things with a plastic gun.

2) I don't have Move so it will be quite an expensive add on to get the whole shebang.

Despite this I am still tempted as I imagine it will be very immersive, I'd need to see it in action though to judge how responsive or accurate it will be.

I've got PS move and played the demo using the move controller. IMO it doesn't really add anything to the game, which I am quite surprised by.

Once you get used to using the move controller it becomes intuitive, but only in the same way using a stick on a pad becomes intuitive when you're used to that. It doesn't make the game feel more "real".

So the move goes back in the cupboard to collect dust!

I find that surprising, I play quite a bit of table tennis, and find that my real life playing has improved by playing sports champions...

But then, I also enjoy band hero, and use a wheel and pedals for gt5, guess I'm just a peripherals lover!

Traded in a few old games for this today, not tried the campaign yet, but multiplayer seems good. Only gripes so far is the inability to map controls (clicking the right stick for aim down scope is annoying) and the lack of a custom soundtrack. The melee kills are awesome though! thumbup

I hope so, I'm looking to order a variant, I think from the same manufacturer, that looks like an M4, but has the navigation functions built in..

The reviews on amazon are rubbish for the one I want, but I think that's because the reviewers were using it without already having move - it can be used as a funky normal controller, but it's not very good use like that.

We'll see...

Got this on Saturday and it's brill. Working my way through the single player campaign at the moment and it's rather exciting stuff. I'll probably finish this before I venture online but so far it's very good. Graphics are amazing and the weapons\shooting action are very satisfactory. This might tear me away from Bad Company 2 for a bit.

Use the Alternate controls and it's the same as CoD with L1 to scope.

Ok, I was not going to jump into multiplayer until I finished the campaign but I thought I'd give it a quick go last night...meanwhile several hours later. It really is alot of fun. Leveling up the different classes is awesome, really enjoying the engineer and placing turrets everywhere etc. I'm not sure it'll have the longevity of something like BFBC2 as it's more visceral and not as tactical but it sure is a blast so I think I'll be on this for a while.

Sounds good so far then? I played the demo at a friends house at the weekend and I was impressed.

I have some vouchers burning a hole in my pocket, and having just completed New Vegas I need something new to get my teeth into. Black Ops doesn't do it for me and will be getting traded in.

Finally received my sharpshooter so had a blast on this last night - It's absolutely stunning - the move system really adds to the game.
