F1 2010 "connection failed"

Today I finally got my xbox 360 online though a wired connection to my lap top which then connects wirelessly to my router downstairs.
The only problem is F1 2010 keeps on losing connection when I start a quick online race and I was wondering if anyone else has this problem, as Forza 3 was slightly laggy but ok earlier.
