ror - Zlib.dll (couldn't fit in title)

Please see this thread:

Any ideas?

Have been trying to solve the issue for a few days, but to no avail...

I'm at a complete loss here, I've tried everything.

have you tried the obvious:
* uninstall / reinstall
* latest g'card drivers
* latest mobo drivers
* latest soundcard drivers
* windows updates
* newest DirectX...

Have you emailed Atari?

Have done the whole "uninstall/reinstall/reboot/launch" process/routine a number of times.

Latest graphics card drivers haven't tried (sure there are new ones). Will see if there are any new ones and will attempt to download them.

Latest mobo drivers haven't tried but will.

As with the soundcard drivers...

Didn't notice anything strange or erronous in dxdiag.exe

Not sure if Windows Updates is wise because whilst it addresses key concerns and risks in the Windows OS it also creates more problems (so my dad, who works in IT, says, and many other people say so too)...

Got DirectX 9, will download a newer version if there is...

Oh, and I did a search for the problem on the Ataricommunity forum and the solutions were too upgrade the drivers/firmware for my DVD drive, for which I can't find any new drivers for, and too change a few properties of the drive, reinstall, and then revert back to the original properties/settings, and then launch which didn't work either...

yikes, this is a strange one then. If you've got to upgrade the firmware of your DVD-rom

I don't know then, sorry. I'm a state-the-obvious type of man and then run into a brick wall past there - my machine sat bust for 1.5 years before I figured what the problem was.

It's ok I've fiddled with the .dll file zlib.dll.

I deleted all versions but kept one version, put it in UT installation file (which is installed in default C:/UT2004) and the game launches!!

I did get new vid card drivers.

Now time to build up my skills...
