New Iphone - No I need to register IMEI?

I am on Orange, and just upgraded to an iphone 4.

I purchased the phone from apple, and cut my sim card to the appropriate micro sim size.

Do I need to inform Orange?

I have insurance through other means.

Couldn't hurt if Orange are providing you with some sort of insurance, better to have the option.

As I have found to my great cost recently some mobile insurance policies have some very dire exclusions deep in the T's & C's.

If you're outside of a contract, nope. If you're in your contract period, probably no, but check your T&Cs small print.
