Computer game addiction
Discussion
Playing with a group of friends last night on Black Ops, one of them exclaims "That guy is rank 50 15th prestige!" cue lots of "bloody hell, how sad?" etc remarks.. the game's only been out since November. So we had a look at his combat record to see if it's legit and lo and behold, he's played it for 23 days 8 hours! This works out on average 7.8 hours played a day!
That is some serious game addiction. It's not even THAT good a game
Surely they must be unemployed? After working it out, I feel sorry for the guy..
P.S. We spanked his ass for a couple of matches before he quit

Lets say you've inherited enough or retired on enough to keep you living comfortably, found yourself with f
k all to do so you end up playing games all the time.
It's sad they've not found another hobby to keep them entertained with, but I see no problem with it. Certainly better than spending the days getting wasted.
I really wish people wouldn't be so judgmental of others on such small basis. For all you know, his console might be shared amongst 5 people in university accommodation and one of the players is extremely good.

Everyone is far too quick to judge nowadays though. It seems to be part of the way we live now. I agree with you and there is nothing stating he isn't an employee at Game stores, works for EA/THQ etc, or is a games tester/developer.

If said person is happy living their life like that then so be it. At least they're not out on the streets drinking heavily, threating innocent people or stabbing/gunning people down. Sometimes people seem so caught up in others lives that they bypass their own.
When MW2 came out i had a serious COD addiction.
It got to a point where i would cancel things with mates just to play on it.
But i reckon at most i'd play 4 hours a day.
I'm now getting that addiciton again with Black Op's.
Me, my brother & 2 mates play team tactical every night, if they were on all the time i could play it 12 hours a day as a squad we seem to own.
In 4 days play (playing from about 6.30-10pm) we've lost 1 game.

I played probably more than that when I was 16/17 - Counter Strike
Ah, CounterStrike, how i miss thee.I played probably more than that when I was 16/17 - Counter Strike
Some games are good enough to warrant spending hours at a time on, but I'd never give up plans or purposely stay in just to play a game. I enjoy my social life and seeing my friends a great deal more than sitting in front of the Xbox.
Some people may well enjoy this and if so, then fair play to them, but I couldn't do it myself.
