So, with some of my Christmas cash in my grubby mitt and with Game having a sale on, I went and had a look for something other than Black Ops and GT5 to amuse myself with over the new Year period.

I decided to give MOH a chance. Oh how I wish I hadn't. The game in itself is actually pretty good, looks good, although the aiming is off a little and there are countless bugs in it. But the length of the game is dreadful. I'd completed it within half a day and the online mode, although good looking, is just too busy and doesn't work very well.

Incredibly disappointed.

Yeh I seen that pretty cheap too & wondered wether or not to get it... glad I never now.

Also seen that Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit for about 20 knickers which is a good price seems its a recent release & it looks pretty good, any reviews on this?

There's a thread on here that's worth looking at.
I downloaded the demo and deleted it within an hour or so; it was very pretty, but there was no 'feel' to the cars and I just didn't enjoy it.
A real shame as I was looking forward to it!

To get access to all of the online content you will need a VIP code which won't come with a used game. It will cost you an extra £10 so it may well be worth looking at part exchanging MOH for BFBC2.

Does bfbc2 have a good and reasonably lengthy single player campaign?

I don't really have the time to play multi player enough to build up my skills to a competitive level, but I like a game with a good story that lasts. I have racked up many hours on Fallout 3, and have New Vegas waiting in the wings, but would like a proper FP shooter to play that has a decent single player campaign.

I have completed black ops and the other CODs, am doing MOH but it sounds like that won't last too long. any other suggestions. Bfbc2 got poor reviews for single player.

I do wish that DLC for these games would occasionally add something to the single player experience, it all seems focussed on multi...

It was ok. Not fantastic by any means but then I never think the single player bits are, but that's mainly because I get the game for the on-line multiplayer experience, so my view is not too worth taking into account.

I don't understand why MOH gets such a bad press. Yes, the sinlge player is short, but it is filled with LOADS more atmosphere than Black Ops, and I found myself empathising with the characters far more than any of the COD games...
As for multi-player, it depends how you play. If you like the frenitic gameplay of Black Ops, then you'll hate MOH. I love playing combat mission on MOH as it rewards teamwork and tactics. I get FAR more satisfaction from MOH then I ever have from the COD series.
