It would appear that having waited patiently for GT5, three weeks of gaming later it appears my blue ray laser has died. Has anyone had any experience of replacing this themselves, forums seem to give mixed responses. Really don't fancy paying Sony for a refub.

did you not get the option to save the game to your HDD?

that would of been worth it now!

I managed to download my hard drive to a storage device, so no problem losing data. Just the fact two weeks before Xmas it appears a new PS3 is needed which the wife is over the moon about.

Punch her in the face and tell her to get back in the kitchen. That'll sort it.

Check which one you need on there, order a unit with the carriage on it and it's a half hour job to swap out yourself. Easy peasy to do too. Unless you're a ham-fisted moron.
