Black Ops - Cancelling Tac Insertion by pressing "Y" broken?

So you lay down a tactical insertion, then get nailed. You don't want to respawn at your tac as you'll be killed as soon as you pop up by the guy now camping your tac. MW:BlackOps now gives you the option to hit Y (instead of X for respawn). Hitting Y is meant to cancel your tac (during the killcam replay of your death) so you can get a 'normal' random spawn.

However, it doens't appear to work for me. I hit Y, or hold Y or pretty Y and X and every combo I could think of.... but I always spawn on the tac.

Does this seem broken to other people too? I tried google but I can't find any other references to this on the web.
