Need for Speed Hot Pursuit - to buy or not to buy

The thing is I remember Most Wanted being one of the funnest driving games ever!! then carbon came out and everything went south. It actualy put me off buying any of the later instalments in the series. But Hot Pursuit looks like they've possibly gone back to their Most Wanted roots.....anyone else thinking of giving it a go?

There is a demo coming out in a week or so. I will be giving it a try but cant see me getting it this year with everything else coming out plus work.

Never been a fan of NFS. I can't imagine the latest instalment being anything worth spending money on.

I'll pick it up at Christmas or after when it's cheap, always enjoy the games and this one looks to be the best for a while. I personally really enjoyed Undercover and I've got Shift still unwrapped on the shelf.

I still have that bad boy in my drawer at home, might have to try and see if it still works on modern PC's, pretty sure its at least 12 years old. Was amazing at the time.

I remember the Original NFS on the 3DO aswell, the 1st time I saw that game I was 12 years old and it blew my mind considering that at that time this was the most advanced driving game i owned:

As it's being made by the Burnout team it should be excellent. Here's hoping for lots of fantastic crashes and some good fun multiplayer.

I will be buying it. For me, Need For Speed games only work when there are police involved. Most Wanted was the best one on the lot.

The thing that made it for me (in most wanted, I don't know if they carried it into the other games) was the engine soudns. All pre-recorded engine noises from the real cars. bliss.
