Wheel - Multi Platform?

Have been mulling buying the new F1 game, but can't decide on the platform - do I get it for the PS3, or the PC. PS3 is in the bedroom (used mainly for streaming), and out of bounds when SWMBO is trying to get some sleep, or the PC which is in the office.

Still not decided on platform, I started thinking about getting a wheel - but for which? - is there one wheel that is available to work on both platforms?

All the wheels that work on a PC work on the PS3, and visa-versa.

G25/G27 is a good bet.

PC is relatively new, so fingers crossed - was bought as a high end photography workstation.

OK, next daft question - is there a "real" shop I can go and buy a G27 wheel this weekend, or is google correct, and the only place to buy one is online?

Post up your PC specs. A photography workstation won't necessary have a top end 3d gpu.

I went for the PS3 version so I can play on the big telly.

No probs. The PC is a Dell Studio XPS. Bought it earlier this year - April, from memory.

Core i7 860 3Ghz.
8GB RAM
Nvidia geForce GTS 240
Win 7 64bit

Reading that from the Dell website at present, but will confirm shortly. Will also add Win7 scoring also.

Will it be suitable? It's been some years since I looked at PC specs from a gaming viewpoint - in fact, since the 486 came out!!!

That PC should have no issues running the game. Im running on full 1920x1200 res with a older cpu, 4gb ram and Nvidia 8800GTX so i should not see any issue with your pc spec.

i bought mine from Argos of all places!

Aaargh! Tried PC World. Went to the one in Leeds - no stock, and non anywhere in the country according to their computer!

Logitech website has links to online re-sellers, but not "real" retailers - at least that I could find.

Just checked Argos - the don't have the G27 on the website, that I could find....

So, ordered it from Dabs, £229. Will be sometime next week when I get it. Damn and blast - Oh well, will be fun trying to play it with the keyboard for a while - just like Crammonds F1GP from years ago!!
