Xbox "Net Settings Fail"

I know a few people who've had this over the last few days. Can't join Xbox live parties or certain private games.

Some of which have had their Xboxes return to normal a day or so later.

Xbox having a funny 5 minutes or something more serious, anyone got any info?

I've not had an error message saying "Net Settings Fail" but I have found a few times I'll be in MW2 searching for a game and it just goes for ages without finding one. So I backout to the playlist selection screen and notice is says "0 players online". I'm definitely signed into XBL (as I can see friends online in the blades). In these cases a reboot of the xbox (and sometimes of the modem and router too) fixes it.

I don't know if my issue is related to yours.

Oh, one other thing I got a while ago (like a few months ago) was a situation where on MW2 I couldn't join any games. One of us would be hosting a MW2 party and send invites to the others, but it would say 'Joining party attempt 1' then go to like attempt 4 then fail. That was VERY frustrating. I've not played in a party for a while, so don't know if that's still happening, but it sounds more similar to the issue you're getting. (is your problem on mw2 too?)

Do an xbox live connection test. Do you get open, moderate or strict NAT??
