E74 xbox failure

I have a fault with the graphics card - does anyone know how to fix or anyone who can fix it for me

I think E74 is treated the same as the RROD by MS, so you might be able to get them to do it for you under warranty?

It is over 3 years old i think, I bought is second hand as well which doesnt help

Probably cheaper to flog it as dead and buy a new one.

MS will fix it for you and you will get back either a new or reconditioned console for ~£80.

This is the kit I used - expensive for 8 bolts, 24 washers and a bit of thermal paste, but the instructions are good and if you struggle the guy provides good advice.

Couple of months ago I was in the exact same situation as the OP and did what shouldbeworking said above. Taking the console apart was easy enough, as was cleaning off the old paste and applying the new stuff. My xbox worked again afterwards, but only for about 30 minutes before RROD'ing on me from which there was no return. Ended up paying a friend £40 for his 4 year old xbox and gave him my one to shift on ebay as RROD'd.

I've also used one of the eBay fixing kits. I've done it on 3 xboxes, and 2 worked, 1 didn't. If you're still under warranty, don't do it. If you're out of warranty, go for it.

^ Exactly - it will die again. It's a question of when, not if. If you like wasting time, then great. If you'd prefer just to have a working Xbox, get a newer model that won't die so easily.

I wish someone told me my e74 fix would have been free i bought a new xbox haha, just put my old one in for repair so will have 2 xboxs now, if they send back old comsole ill be able to use my old gamertag again too, which has all my DL data on.

You can recover your GT to any console and your HD contains your DL data

They will not send you your xbox back. It will be a different one.

looks like im on the hunt for a new one, my friend who i bought this one off has had it apart already to put new thermal paste on so i think its just fried

I cant J because iv lost my windows id email and password i used a diff one like 2 n half years ago and have forgot it wasnt my email.
