I have it, and have got quite far, it's not bad, no IL2 but i like the landscape, nice to fly through real looking houses and towns. I have just finished the Russian missions, and moved in to the pacific i think. I don't like the voice acting by the main charecter, bit poo, especially as the British pilot speaks with a german accent.

Thanks for replying, I downloaded the demo from Steam and I am quite impressed with it so far. I like the fact that you can use 'Arcade' mode (which is hard enough thanks). I really don't have enough patience to learn how to actually fly these aircraft like they were the real thing.
It took me a while to configure my joystick as I don't have one of the one's on their list.
Err.. I don't think this game covers the Pacific theatre, and as for the accents, I think they are Russians trying to speak with British and American accents. Of course I could be wrong.
As you say, the scenery is great, I flew about for half an hour, very low, shooting the sh!t out of Dover, which was nice.
Anyway, my question to you is:
I enjoyed the Demo mission of shooting down German bombers and Stukas over Dover, really liked that, but I totally struggled with the other Demo mission where you dogfight German fighters over Berlin. It took me an hour to shoot down just two Messerschmits and I was flippin' exhausted aferwards. So before I go ahead and purchase the game, how much of it is dogfighting enemy fighters? If that is 90% of the game I don't think I'll bother, I like shooting down bombers and attacking ground targets. Also, if you get stuck on a mission, can you bypass it? or do you have to complete it before proceeding to the next level?
Thanks for any help you can offer, apologies for being such a flight sim wimp.
PS: I actually have IL2 but I'm too scared to install it in case it involves learning a Master's degree in aerodynamics!
Wings of Prey has most Saitek and Thrustmaster already configured. Unfortunately I have a Logitech 3D Pro.......or something, and it took a fair bit of faffing about. I chose a Thrustmaster Joystick profile then had to keep going back and forth to the controls section to correct the Axes etc.
Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X is supported and is on play.com for 34 quid.
I wonder what Hotas means?
And don't forget once you have a joystick you get to join the wonderful world of Freespace.

With the rudders controlled by G25 pedals on combined axis mode.
