Xbox live question
Discussion
Having just changed Broadband provider to NTL ( dont ask, not my choice!) it seems that £25/month gets me a 600k connection, £30/month gets me the "+console" package.
Anyone else here use NTL for their xbox live connection? I already have the cables, subscription etc so can I just stick with the cheaper option or do i really have to fork out another £5 a month just for the choice to use my Xbox?

My 576k connection with FreeUK does the job fine - never any slow down.
Can't think what the 'console' can possibly offer. You could have a 2Mb connection, but it won't be any better than a 500k connection (cos all the consoles will be synchronised to the same speed).
If games get really busy it might be better. Also may be slighty better when you host games.
My advice is save the £5 per month and buy another game or two each year using what you've saved

The NTL website is confusing. It suggests the £5 is to allow "enabled access to Live", technical support and the ability to run the PC and the Xbox at the same time.
I am quite happy to swap the connections over, I cant be on both at the same time
They cant possibly stop me accessing Xbox live if I only have the 600k package without the "console pack" can they?!

Eh, I use both at the same time, 1 firewall, 1 server, several laptops and a PS2 all hammering the network simeltaneously.
sounds to me like ntl are talking shite......no change there then
Same subject, different question - hope someone can provide the answer:
I got a 2 month free trial with the console which I signed up to at the weekend 'GTS Viper'. However, I would like a headset/mic so I can join in the chat! If I buy the kit from Gameplay that includes 12 month subscription, can I tag this on the end of the existing 2 month one, or will I have to cancel that after 2 months, lose my current sign in and start from scratch again (losing all Kudos)? Anyone...???
