PS3 transfer saves and paid for stuff

Thinking about upgrading to the quieter slim line ps3, how do I get all my saves and the stuff I've bought onto the new machine?

Pop a usb dongle into ps3 and copy all your game saves onto usb, then paste them onto new ps3 under game saves.
When set up your profile on the ps3 simply use your current login info for the psn and then go to the playstation store and you can click on recent downloads and download the stuff you paid for without paying again!

Johna is correct but some saves will not transfer with USB, they are locked. You will need to use an external HDD to copy your entire old HDD to, then transfer that onto your new HDD.

Doing it with an external HDD transfers everything including Music, Videos, Demos... everything on your HDD.
