The Biz - old Spectrum game

I used to have this back in the day on my Spectrum. I have recently rediscovered it and it's a real timer killer of a game.

The basic form of the game is that you setup your own band on an independant label, assign a manager then progress through the weeks doing gigs or rehearsing in search of a record deal.

It's incredibly basic as you would expect, but pretty addictive. A link to play the game online is here:

So far I've had my band - The Fanny Magnets, playing Rock n Roll music from a mansion in Coventry, releasing songs and getting into the top 150 before being signed by Polydor records. Getting as high as number 34 and appearing on John Peel and TOTP then being dropped again before committing suicide!

Have a go, it's a lot of fun and a good game to waste a bit of time at work. Just turn the sound off and your away.

Haha, I used to play that loads when I was a nipper...

The hardest part was thinking of witty/amusing names for when your bird runs off with your best mate etc...

Does that online version let you save your progress so you can go back to it later?

It seems to have (top right) but I haven't tried it so don't know if it works. It's pretty easy to spend two hours on it before you even get signed up to a record deal.
