I can't seem to get this downloaded. I've downloaded Steam but when I click on the red button to download Portal I just get a blank screen.

it's not an entirely "no strings" download... you have to download steam to get it

Portal is ace. Completed the main story in about an hour yesterday afternoon.

Starting on those advanced missions now. Got stumped for ages on the second one, tried one of those floor-cieling neverending portal loops to get my velocity up...

I run XP, not sure about the mac... I would have thought that if you've got Steam on the Mac side and can download CS via steam it should DL a mac viable client.
